The Junior Chamber International Cambodia (JCI Cambodia) led a delegation from over 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region to visit Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap. The purpose was to explore potential collaborations to raise funds supporting the hospital's operations, providing free and effective treatment to Cambodian children.

Ly Oudam, National President of JCI Cambodia, said, "Witnessing the valuable mission of the hospital in saving the lives of tens of thousands of Cambodian children every year and providing free treatment, we have decided to invite our organizational members in various countries to come and learn more about the overall situation of the hospital. This will help JCI member countries to come up with initiatives or collaborations to raise funds, making the hospital's operations more sustainable."

The visit activities at Angkor Hospital for Children involve understanding the hospital's operations and visiting critically ill child patients. During the visit, delegates engage in conversations with a parent whose child is diagnosed with blood cancer, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the hospital's efforts in saving the child’s life and improving their condition.

Holly Smith, Fundraising Director at Angkor Hospital for Children, said, “We are delighted to have welcomed the JCI delegation today and offer our sincere thanks to the National President of Cambodia, Ly Oudam, for leading the delegation. AHC relies on partnerships with organizations around the world and Cambodia to keep providing healthcare to children, and we are honored that the National Presidents took the time out of their busy schedules to visit the hospital and discuss our potential collaboration.”

The visit took place during the 2024 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference, organized by JCI Cambodia from June 6 to 9, 2024, in Siem Reap. This visit was one of the most important agenda items at the conference's showcase about JCI Cambodia's positive impact on the community. The report shows that in just the past 6 months, from October 2023 to March 2024, the Angkor Hospital for Children has provided support and treatment to around 60,000 Cambodian children.
